Offering classes in Burlesque 101, 201 as well as collaborative workshops, the Rose City School of Burlesque covers the fundamentals of the striptease as well as the finer, advanced points of performance art.

Burlesque 101 Session
- Semester classes, every Tuesday night, 7-9pm
- Classes held at The Bossanova Ballroom, 722 E Burnside, Portland, OR (map)
- Nine weeks of classes
- Week 1: Introduction to Burlesque & the History of Burlesque
- Learn about the start of burlesque and how it affected performance today and how today's performance is like & unlike historical representations
- Week 2: Burlesque Costuming
- RCSOB Founder Holly Dai teaches students about handsewing vs more immediate costume creation methods, how to make pasties and more!
- Week 3: Dance & Movement for Burlesque
- Not a dancer? Have no fear... Tana the Tattooed Lady uses her years of experience to show you how move & groove whether you have twinkle toes or two left feet.
- Week 4: Burlesque Hairstyling & Wigs
- Meghan Mayhem & Zora Phoenix teach about using curlers, rollers, fascinators and more to glam your head as well as how easy it is to use wigs to enhance your look!
- Week 5: Makeup for Photos & Stage
- Meghan Mayhem & Zora Phoenix are back to teach about applying makeup to define and enhance your features both for photography and 'painting for stage', as well as using false eyelashes, glitter & more (There is also a class field trip the Saturday following this show!)
- Week 6: Comedy & Drama and Creating a Persona / Establishing Online Identity
- Zora Phoenix teaches you how to infuse humour into your act, whether you are developing a funny persona or just a silly performance piece! She also offers a crash course covering the proper way to establish an online identity
- Week 7: Reviewing & Putting it All Together
- The teachers come together to help the students put together the pieces, from choosing music, selecting a name and defining their stage persona
- Week 8: Dress Rehearsal for Graduation
- Finishing touches of performance pieces
- Week 9: Graduation Recital!
- Whee! Graduation recital show, where everyone comes together to perform their act for their family/friends and receive their official Rose City School of Burlesque certification!

Our advanced six week workshop series providing an opportunity to learn from three local experience burlesque artists:
Week 1: Angelique DeVil - teaching advanced dance movement for burlesque
Week 2: The Infamous Nina Nightshade - teaching stylized bellydance movement
Week 3: Fannie Fuller - coaching act development and evolution
and three weeks of intensive act development helping student develop a specific act to its next level.
